Choir Leader: Emma Nowell

PopVox Wirral is led by Emma Nowell. Emma is also the founder of PopVox Choir. She decided to bring her professional experience and love of music to create a contemporary fun and friendly choir for adults. ‘Singing is fantastic in so many ways. It boosts health, self confidence and makes you feel great! Through the power of song everyone leaves PopVox with a smile on their face!”
Emma is best known for being one of the presenters in the pre-school television programme Hi-5 which has been broadcast across ITV1/ITV4/Cartoonito/Boomerang/RTE2 everyday. She has travelled around the world with Hi-5’s very own theatre production ‘Hi-5 Surprise’ and has had success with sell out performances throughout the UK and Ireland. Highlights have been performing at the Parade Theatre Sydney, MIPCOM Cannes Festival, London’s Hammersmith Apollo, Arts Theatre London, SKYfest, Boomerang TV Awards and for the Royal Family at their palace in Abu Dhabi.
Previous to this Emma graduated from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a 1st Class BA (hons) in Acting. She then went on to play Linda in ‘Blood Brothers,’ both in the West End and the UK Tour and gained roles in feature films including Stacey in ‘Rollin with the Nines’ and Suzy in the BAFTA nominated ‘Rise of a Footsoldier.’ She has also been a backing vocalist for various music industry artists, performing on Top of the Pops and The Eurovision Song Contest. She enjoys working in Pantomime’s each Christmas, having played the title roles in Cinderella, Jack and The Beanstalk and Sleeping Beauty.
She has continued to work in children’s television and has filmed ‘King Ding’ for Tomorrow’s Child, hosted her own weekly show on Fun Kids Radio and co-hosted with CBeebies Presenters at Lollibop Festival and Geronimo. She continues to present for the BBC Academy and this year has concentrated on developing her presenting duo ‘Luke and Emma’ ‘which has led to them performing around the UK at various festivals and events. They have recently released their self written preschool album ‘A Song a Day,’ which is available on ituneswww.itunes.com/lukeandemma
