Choir Leader: Sophie Leaver
Sophie grew up in the Midlands and has sung in choirs of all genres for 20 years. She moved to Liverpool to study Music in 2015, achieving first-class BA (hons) in Music and a Masters (MMus) in Classical Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, both at the University of Liverpool.
Since graduating, Sophie has worked as a professional vocalist for weddings, events and television including as a Classical singer, lead singer of function bands and an acoustic duo, main support act at Knutsford Music Festival and on ITV’s Victoria.
Alongside this, Sophie currently teaches singing, piano, guitar and ukulele to all ages and abilities, and music classes in schools across Merseyside. Sophie is also trained as a Vocal Health First Aider and is continuing to study vocal health in practice. For two years, Sophie worked with Liverpool Philharmonic as part of the Music and Health programme; “I have seen first-hand how singing and music can change your life – it really is the best medicine!”
